Find what you see in the left column. Every row ends with something to do.
| What you see | Why | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| My browser says "Not secure" or "Your connection is not private". | The dashboard uses a self-signed certificate, which your browser does not recognise. | This is expected. Click Advanced, then Proceed. You do this once on each device. |
| The page does not load at all. | You may be using http:// instead of https://, or the wrong address. | The dashboard is at https:// followed by the IP address. Check the address the installer printed. |
| openmasjidos.local does not work. | The installer does not set up that name. | Use the IP address instead. Reserve it on your router so that it never changes. |
These three used to be answered on the marketing site. They belong here, because the answers are about operating the software rather than about deciding to use it.
| What you see | Why | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Nobody knows the admin password. | It was set once and not written down. | Reset it at the machine itself. Your admin account has the steps. No data is lost. |
| I am not sure whether it is safe to run the installer again. | A second run looks like it might install over the top. | It is safe. A second run opens a menu: Update, Repair, Reset sign-in, Remove, Quit. Update is the default. |
| I am worried an update will lose my apps or my records. | Updates on other systems sometimes do. | They do not here. Each app runs on its own, and Update and Repair never touch app data. Take a backup first if you prefer. |
If none of these help:
| Part that is not working | Where to report it |
|---|---|
| The dashboard, the installer, settings, backups | OpenMasjidOS |
| Prayer timetables and screens | OpenMasjid Display |
| The donation page | OpenMasjid Donations |
| The tablet and the card reader | OpenMasjid Kiosk |
When you report a fault, say which guide you followed and which step failed. That is usually enough for somebody to tell you the answer.
