Free and open source, forever
Your masjid’s software.
Free, forever.
Prayer displays, donations and a giving kiosk. They run on one computer at the masjid, managed from a dashboard anyone on the committee can use. You own the machine, you own the data, and there is nothing to subscribe to.
bash -c "$(curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/OpenMasjid-Solutions/OpenMasjidOS/master/install.sh || wget -qO- https://raw.githubusercontent.com/OpenMasjid-Solutions/OpenMasjidOS/master/install.sh)" Paste that into your server once. That’s the install.
Works whether your server has curl or wget — you don’t need to install either one first.
Why it’s different
Software that belongs to the masjid
This is not a trial. There are no tiers and no licence for each screen. Every masjid gets the same software, and it stays free.
Free, forever
You get every part of it at no cost. We hold back no paid version. There is no upsell because there is nothing to sell.
Open source
Released under the AGPL-3.0. Anyone can read the code, check it and improve it. Those improvements come back to every masjid.
Your hardware, your data
It runs on a computer at the masjid. Nothing is uploaded to us, because there is no “us” to upload to — we don’t run a server for you.
One-click App Store
Browse the catalog from the dashboard and install an app with a click. Each app asks for the details it needs, then it’s running.
No subscriptions
No monthly fee, no card on file, no renewal notice. The only cost is the computer you already decided to buy.
Where the money goes
The same donation, two routes
This is the whole difference, in one picture.
Mohid · Masjidal · MadinaApps Through somebody else’s cloud
- Donor taps a card
- The supplier’s cloud
- Their monthly fee, busy month or quiet one
- The gift, less the processor’s fee
The donor records live in their system. If you leave, you ask for them back.
OpenMasjid Straight through your own machine
- Donor taps a card
- Your computer, in the masjid
- Your own Stripe account
- No monthly fee, in any month
- The gift, less the processor’s fee
The donor records stay on your machine. There is no middle to leave.
The family
One platform, and the apps that run on it
OpenMasjidOS is the base. Each of the other products is an app that you install onto it with one click. They are all open source.
