Every screen in the masjid, from one small computer

One small computer drives every TV in the building. Each screen has its own video link on your network. From your phone you select what each screen shows: a prayer timetable, a camera, or an HDMI source.

What it does

Built for the room it hangs in

This is not a general signage player with prayer times added to it. It knows Adhan and Iqamah, Jumu‘ah, and the Hijri date.

Timetables worked out on the device

The device calculates the prayer times. A screen shows the correct times even if the internet stops. It shows Adhan and Iqamah for each prayer, Jumu‘ah, the Hijri and Gregorian dates, and the time until the next prayer. Select the method your masjid uses: MWL, ISNA, Egypt, Makkah, Karachi, or your own angles.

A live editor for each screen

Design each screen and watch it change as you work. Select a layout. Set the colours to match the room. Choose what the screen shows. Add your own background and the masjid logo. To rename a screen, click its name in the preview.

Any camera, including the imam’s

Put a security camera on a screen with one tap. This is useful for the overflow room and the women’s section. You can show the imam camera in the same way. The app accepts RTSP and RTSPS links. UniFi cameras work: switch on RTSP in UniFi Protect, then paste the link.

HDMI to any TV, over the network

Connect a laptop or a recorder to an HDMI-to-network encoder. The picture then goes to any screen in the building, across the network you already have. You do not need a long HDMI cable, a splitter, or a matrix switcher.

A volunteer can switch it from anywhere

Switch on a simple phone page with its own address and a short PIN. A volunteer then sees every screen and changes what each one shows with a tap. The volunteer does not need the admin login. A schedule can do the same: it changes a screen to the imam camera for Jumu‘ah, then back to the timetable. A volunteer can take control at any time.

A whole year of Iqamah times at once

If your committee sets the Iqamah times in advance, upload the year as a CSV file. An example file is included for you to edit. If you prefer, let the app calculate the times, then adjust them when necessary.

The monthly timetable, ready to print

You get a true month calendar. Each row is a week. Each day shows its Adhan and Iqamah times. Fridays are marked, and the Jumu‘ah time is clear. Print it for the noticeboard, or save it as a PDF from your browser.

Prayer times on your own website

Add one line of HTML to the masjid website. It then shows a live card with today’s times, the time until the next prayer, and a week table that visitors can click through. The card uses the same times as the screens, so the two always agree.

English, Arabic and Urdu

Set the language for each screen. Right-to-left text is supported. There are three layouts, so a wide lobby TV and a narrow corridor screen can both look correct.

One cheap box per screen

Point a low-cost RTSP-to-HDMI decoder at a screen one time. It then works without more setup, and it starts playing again by itself after a power cut. There is no computer behind each TV, and no cable from the office to the prayer hall.

Nothing leaves the building

Your camera pictures and your timetables stay on your own network. There is no cloud service between you and them.

What it costs

Nothing per screen, and nothing per month

Most signage systems charge for each screen. That is acceptable for one screen and expensive for six. Here the only cost that grows is the decoder box at each TV, and you buy that from any supplier.

Put it on one screen first

Install OpenMasjidOS. Add Display from the App Store. Point one TV at it. If that works, do the rest of the building.
